Responding to: Limmy.com – Thanksgiving

In a nutshell: Limmy asks what our plans for Thanksgiving are and has a go at Americanisation of our culture.

My initial comment:

I’ll be using my Scottish accent to get in to the pants of American college chicks here in Florida. Tonight (Thanksgiving Eve) is like New Year and Christmas Eve all rolled into one, well so they say. Then working each day at 8am. My ultimate goal is to not only get a ride, but get invited to a full on American Thanksgiving dinner. But how many times do one-night stands get invited to family meals the next day?

People here say England when they mean Britain or UK. They know that Scotland is part of Britain, so sometimes they say Scotland is a part of England and that is a blow I usually suffer in silence now. Its amazing the number of times where I’ve balance a response of “Aye, great” with “Actually mate, you’ll find that…”. I learned to bite my tongue at immigration years ago.

“So many of you English guys coming in today!”
“Aye, great.”

jack Says: Del, been noticing ever since Eddiemunster slagged you for your lack-of-hole you’ve been hittin’ out with all these “ahm gonnae get a shag” statements. Nobody’s buying it, buddy.

ali bongo Says: he might be creepy and no get his hole, but i no longer think del is the number one wank on this blog.

My reponse:

Del Says: sarahsox, why? Because I’m going out looking for a ride?

Conclusion:

sarahsox thinks I sound creepy, I assume from my woman chatting up tactics, but that seems to be very, very common amongst guys. Maybe just admitting men are tactical when chatting up women is something she doesn’t want to accept. The same way that men don’t like accepting women fart.

jack is confused. I’ve not said “I’m gonnae get a ride” at all or in response to my long running battle with eddiemunsters. I did say I was chasing women while in the Bahamas and in Florida. Chasing women is different from assuming that will have sex with them. He says he’s not buying it, probably cause I’m not selling it.

ali bongo is having a go at Al, but I’ll take his comments about me as “playful”.

Dave’s fixation and hatred for me are legend. This is just another chapter. He seems to be obsessed with me and my comments on Limmy’s blog. Obsessed, there is no other word for it. Hi attacks follow the 1, 2, 3 pattern I described earlier.

I commented on quiet a few blogs in the last few years on various subjects. The level of debate on these blogs varies from serious to banter and its difficult to get all the commenters on the same wavelength. Not all the people that read a blog comment on the blog. I ready many blogs and don’t comment. Some people argee with you and some people don’t. A lot of people don’t read what you say or the follow up comments. Many people question your motives and other know nothing about the subject, but comment anyway. Its a feature of the internet that people can say things on a blog that they would never say if this was a round table discussion. My responses and my approaches are often badly chosen and make things worse.

It doesn’t help that there is a progression of possible attacks: 1. you attack the point being discussed, 2. you attack the writer personally, 3. you attack spelling/grammar/concision of the writer’s comments.

On this blog, I will put comments on any disputes rather than clog up other blogs.
